Revenue Cycle Management and Related Web Services Fit US President Obama’s Initiatives Regarding Healthcare IT
August 7, 2009—(Louisville, Ky.)—MedX12, a privately-held healthcare software solution provider serving the US, has affiliated with Cleveland-based Noteworthy Medical Systems, Inc. as a Sales and Service Partner to expand the MedX12 software suite of products designed to take physician practices paperless. Key MedX12 web-based products in physician practice management and electronic medical records will now be powered by Noteworthy, including MedX12’s NetPracticePM™ and MedX12’s NetPracticeEHRweb™. NetPracticeEHRweb’s capabilities allow for connections between hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and labs, interfacing within existing systems.
“Given President Obama’s incentives to physician practices to lower healthcare costs and improve patient care through electronic medical records, we expanded our offerings with the highest level of healthcare IT (HCIT) available on the market today,” said Joe Sostarich, CEO of MedX12. To help drive the adoption of electronic health records by 2015, the federal government is investing $33 billion in incentives to providers under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. To gain the maximum amount of incentives, providers must have a qualifying records system in meaningful use by 2011. In addition to incentives, the legislation specifies increasing financial penalties for physician practices that have not adopted certified electronic systems, Sostarich indicated.
Since its launch in 2006, MedX12 has entered product categories that serve to enhance practice performance and patient care through back-end software solutions to the physician practice. “The MedX12 modular approach allows providers to select specific applications to address specific issues, or bundle applications to create a more comprehensive solution.
